Rise Above Challenge: Day 7

Reflecting with Clarity


Grad your journal, because it is time to reflect on your past week. How did this past week go? What feelings came up? How do you feel about how you dealt with them? Did you feel as though you gained a greater awareness of the feelings?

Now more importantly, think about the feelings you DO want to have this upcoming week. This is the critical step we tend to forget about when rising above feelings we no longer want to have. By becoming clear on what feelings you do want to have, you are being proactive in bringing them about in your life. (because how can you sit there and get excited if you don’t tell yourself you want to be excited in the first place!)

Reflect and get super clear on what your perfect upcoming week would look like, and all the positive feelings you will have. Also spend some time journaling about how you will set yourself up for success by making a promise to actively work towards bringing (at least) one positive feeling into this upcoming week. (make reminders, carve out time for yourself, or do something special this week)

When we lose passion in life, it is usually due to the fact we have lost clarity on what’s important to us, like knowing who we are striving to be, and what feelings we want to experience on a daily basis. Brandon Burchard does a great job explaining this in his book High Performance Habits, and has a lot of great free online resources (click here).
